About Cyber Success
The Cyber Success program is a comprehensive workforce development program designed to prepare individuals for careers in cybersecurity. The program was developed with support from a grant from the NICE. The program is designed to:
- Equip participants with foundational cybersecurity knowledge and skills through training and certification programs.
- Cultivate “social capital” by providing ongoing mentorship, industry insights, and career coaching through RTriad's career development platform, KnowWon.
- Help participants gain practical experience by consulting with small businesses and organizations.
The Cyber Success program is a multi-stage program, consisting of the following phases:
Phase 1: Foundational Training and Certification
- Participants gain personal awareness training through a workshop called "Design your destiny".
- Participants receive fundamental cybersecurity knowledge through the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification training program and exam. This training covers topics such as security principles, incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery, access control concepts, network security, and security operations.
- Participants have access to supplementary training materials, including online instructor-led training and on-demand training for self-paced learning, we leverage the flipped classroom methodology. We emphasize "curiosity" based research to expand knowledge.
- Participants are provided with a one-year subscription to KnowWon and Udemy, an annual ISC2 membership, and a local ISC2 chapter membership9.
Phase 2: Applied Skills Training
- Participants develop skills in delivering targeted cybersecurity assessments, with a focus on ransomware and supply chain risk management.
- RTriad guides participants in delivering KnowBe4 Automated Security Awareness Program assessments to DoD contractors and MWBEs, walking them through the establishment of a security awareness training policy and program to avoid ransomware vulnerability.
- Participants receive training on risk management and consulting skills.
- Training modules cover risk assessment, communication, empathy, critical thinking, building rapport, and professionalism.
- Participants gain practical experience by consulting with small local businesses and non-profits.
Phase 3: Talent Showcase
This phase publicizes the skills and capabilities of program participants to potential employers and celebrates participant success.
The goal of this phase is to increase employer engagement, successfully place participants into cybersecurity roles, and recognize program impact.
